About this research
Who is running it
This study is being conducted by Chilli Fig, a consumer research agency. We have been commissioned by Polar, a creative agency, on behalf of their client, a new sports product brand.
What it's about
We are researching how people think about pricing for a new piece of sports equipment. The interview will take around 30 minutes. There are no right or wrong answers; we just want your honest thoughts.
What we will do with what you say
We will record the interview (audio only) and transcribe it afterwards. Your words may be quoted in our final report, but you will never be identified by name. You will be referred to only by a participant number and broad descriptors (for example, 'triathlete, age 40s').
Who will see the findings
Anonymised findings (including anonymous quotes and short audio clips) will be shared with our client and their client. Your name, contact details, and anything that could identify you will never be shared with either party.
Confidentiality (important)
The product we will discuss is not yet publicly launched. The brand, the product details, the pricing, and anything else shown or described to you in this session are commercially confidential.
By taking part, you agree not to share, post, publish, describe, or otherwise disclose any of the following to anyone, including on social media, in forums, or to friends and family:
The name of the product or the brand
Any description, image, or detail of the product you were shown
Any pricing discussed in the session
The fact that this product is being developed or is coming to market
This confidentiality obligation continues until the product is publicly launched, or for two years from today, whichever comes first. You can talk about the fact that you took part in a research interview; you just can't talk about what was in it.
Your data and your rights
What we collect
Your name and contact details (for scheduling and the incentive payment)
Your audio recording and transcript from the interview
Basic demographic information you have already shared (for example, your age range, whether you are a swimmer, triathlete, parent, or coach)
How long we keep it
Your name, contact details, and audio recording are held securely for up to 24 months from the date of your interview, then deleted (unless you give separate consent for us to re-contact you for a future project, in which case we will hold them for as long as that consent remains in place).
Anonymised transcripts (with all identifying information removed) may be kept indefinitely as part of our research archive. Once anonymised, these are no longer personal data and cannot be linked back to you.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
Withdraw from the interview at any point, without giving a reason and without losing your incentive
Ask us to delete your recording and transcript at any point up to the final report being delivered (after that, once quotes have been incorporated in anonymised form, we can no longer isolate your contribution)
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Withdraw any consent you give below, at any time
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you feel your data has been mishandled
